Los SPAs y saunas se apuntan a lo sostenible como forma de compromiso con el medio ambiente y claramente a favor del planeta. La firma catalana Freixanet Sauna Sport especializada en la construcción de zonas de agua para grandes spas, hoteles y particulares de alto standing (que se puedan permitir un spa privado, qué vaya sí los hay…) reforma el universo spa con una propuesta diseñada para conseguir el máximo aprovechamiento del agua y la energía.

Newsweek’s 2012 Green Rankings: This time it’s serious

The latest Green Rankings from Newsweek are out today, and while there aren’t any show-stopping changes from last year, at least at the top of the list, this year’s rankings represent the first meaningful, apples-to-apples comparison of company performance in the rankings’ four-year history.

For the uninitiated: Each year, the magazine, in partnership with Trucost and Sustainalytics, assesses the 500 largest U.S. and global companies and assigns each a “Green Score,” derived from three components:

What if you had the opportunity to engage a billion people around sustainability? What issues would you choose? What messages would you impart? How would you leverage the opportunity to affect behavior change at scale?

Carefully, no doubt. Pushing folks too hard or in the wrong direction or with a less-than-compelling message might squander the opportunity, maybe even turn people off. But inform and inspire such a sizeable audience to act and — well, anything’s possible.

What should you call a company’s sustainability leader?

Despite my frequent conversations about leadership in sustainability, I often wonder who is the leader? What is the leader? And how is the leader defined?

While the term to describe such an indivsidual is chief sustainability officer, rarely is their title Chief Sustainability Officer. For example, while conducting research for Weinreb Group’ CSO Back Story in 2011, we found all of 29 CSOs with that title working for publicly traded companies in the United States. Compared to the number of executives leading sustainability across corporate America, that’s a small number.
