Sustainable winery building to be hub of environmental technology

Ground was ceremonially broken today at the University of California, Davis, for the 8,000-square-foot Jess S. Jackson Sustainable Winery Building, which will enable the adjacent winery, brewery and food-processing complex to become the first self-sustainable, zero-carbon teaching and research facility in the world.

Los arquitectos Izbeth Mendoza Fragoso y Román Cordero Tovar y el pasante Israel Dorantes González muestran la «plataforma arbórea», que ganó el concurso de diseño convocado por la Fundecor de Costa Rica.

Una apuesta por el diseño sostenible, aunada a su ingenio y conocimiento sobre el tema , convirtió al despacho Plug Arquitectura en ganador del primer lugar de un concurso al que convocó la Fundación para el Desarrollo de la Cordillera (Fundecor) de Costa Rica.

La organización ecologista Greenpeace publica este viernes el ranking de supermecados en relación con la pesca sostenible otorgando una valoración positiva a aquellos establecimientos que rechazan la compra a intermediarios de especies pequeñas, en peligro de extinción y que han sido capturadas con métodos de arrastre de profundidad, ya que acaba con la vida de otros peces. Greenpeace considera que todos los supermercados han progresado adecuadamente y otorga la mejor puntuación a Carrefour, con un 46%, seguido de LIDL, con el 43%.
