Think you can’t afford to live a much more sustainable lifestyle?  That’s a popular misconception – as the demand of environmentally-friendly products has grown over the years, consumers have been conditioned to believe that green goods or eco products equate to more expensive merchandise.  While this is not the case with most eco-vacations, as we pointed out last year in this Blog, this infographic alerts consumers to the fact that a lot of “green” choices cost little or nothing…and when you add them all together, you may actually be saving money.

El encuentro Green Hotel & Tourism Solutions organizado por Grupo Habitat Futura en el marco de FITUR Green, con la colaboración del Instituto Tecnológico Hotelero, FITUR, la Organización Mundial del Turismo y el Colegio Oficial de Arquitectos de Madrid, tuvo lugar durante la feria de FITUR en el IFEMA de Madrid (30 enero-3 febrero).

El encuentro abordó desde los aspectos más operativos y relacionados con la gestión del sector, hasta el diseño arquitectónico, las instalaciones y las últimas innovaciones que se están realizando en el mercado actualmente, a partir de casos de éxito. Para ello, se han reunido a algunos de los más destacados profesionales del sector, tanto arquitectos como ingenieros, junto a los representantes de grupos hoteleros tanto de nivel internacional como nacional.

We love recycled shipping containers, but we especially love to see them used in a humanitarian context that literally saves lives. The New Jerusalem Orphanage is a sanctuary for up to 80 orphans in South Africa. Designed by 4D and A Architects, colorful container house is complete with lovely light-filled rooms and mosaic detailing.
