Nicaragua’s Environmental Pioneers Envision Sustainable Tourism In Tandem with Upscale Eco-Lodges

The owners of Morgan’s Rock Hacienda and Ecolodge on 4,500 acres in Playa Ocotal State, Nicaragua, announce plans over the next two years to create a second boutique lodge destination on a 5,000-acre coffee plantation surrounded by primary growth rainforest in the north of the country.

Eric and Carolina Poncon envision their second upscale eco-lodge as yet another step in fulfilling their vision of putting their family lands to productive agriculture, forestry and tourism use – but only if it’s done sustainably.

Un total de 8 empresas de la Garrotxa han sido acreditadas con la Carta Europea de Turismo Sostenible (CETS), en el transcurso de un acto que se ha celebrado, esta mañana en el Molí Fondo, de Sant Joan les Fonts. Los responsables de estos establecimientos han recogido el diploma que certifica que han realizado con éxito el proceso de acreditación de la CETS. Estas empresas han llevado a cabo un diagnóstico de los aspectos ambientales, sociales y de vinculación de su actividad en el territorio gracias al apoyo técnico de la Fundación Garrotxa Líder. También han cumplido con las condiciones marcadas por el Parque Natural de la Zona Volcánica de la Garrotxa,

The Optical Glass House in Japan takes its name from its unique translucent façade, which shields the home’s tranquil courtyard from the surrounding urban environment. Designed by Hiroshi Nakamura & NAP Co. Ltd., this single-family home in downtown Hiroshima features a gorgeous secluded patio with a garden and pool, all hidden behind the bricked-glass wall. The translucent wall filters sunlight and provides some privacy, while protecting the house from the noisy street.
